James Aspey (co-host)
James Aspey is a 29 year old vegan, peace activist from Sydney, Australia. At 17 he was diagnosed with leukaemia and told he had 6 weeks to live. He survived the cancer after 3 years of chemotherapy and started working as a personal trainer. In his 7th year of personal training while working on a cruise ship he met a wise Indian man who told him eating animals is bad karma. James went vegetarian for a 7 day experiment and felt great. After learning about the many health benefits he decided to stick with it. Upon more research he discovered the shocking and violent truth of what is being done to animals for food, clothing, entertainment and medical testing and decided the only way to live in alignment with his values of kindness, justice and respect was to become vegan. James’ first major form of activism was a 365 day vow of silence used to raise awareness for animals and promote peace over violence. He broke his vow on Australia’s most popular morning TV show and since then has given nearly 100 free talks on his journey and the many things he has learned.
